Open Heartfelt Conversations

A 3-part virtual series to build community through love, compassion, grace and vulnerability. Using the foundations of Yoga philosophy as a base for discussion, our aim is to explore our current modern-day concerns and issues in an open and honest space. This is a community gathering to share our thoughts, hopes and fears – a true satsang. Each gathering will include a 21-day kriya based practice including breath work, mantras and meditation to continue this work together while creating a visceral imprint mind, body and soul.

When we go to the source of all spiritual concepts and practices, at the heart is love. Vedantism, at the center of Yoga philosophy, is the belief in oneness. That we are all one. That who we are on the inside is the same, all yearning for the same thing – love. Yet this concept is often discounted to something that just happens on the mat or in the studio. How can we move to the source of this love? How can we grow this love into our communities and with each other?

Peace begins with you. To find this peace we must also heal from within. To process our pain and release our past traumas. Not to forget them, but to move past them, to no longer allow them to control us in the present. What are our daily practices to promote peace and release pain? How can we share this with others to build love and well-being within our communities?

We understand that there are many challenges in these current times. We are inviting anyone that would benefit from this workshop where the fee is an obstacle to apply for a space in our scholarship program. Please send through a short note explaining why this work would be valuable for you right now (1-2 paragraphs) to before August 1, 2020. The recipient will be notified by August 3, 2020.

Tracy Jennings-Hill

Tracy came to yoga because of an injury while in the Air Force over 20 years ago.  After trying physical therapy and medications with no success, she found Yoga was what she needed and eventually wanted it in her life forever.  Every time she thought of walking away, another milestone in her life solidified her place as a Yogi.  Since then, she has followed her heart and not only completed her own training but became a Senior Master Trainer for YogaFit. Traveling all over the United States, Taiwan, Germany, Egypt and Canada to train teachers to teach yoga has been the highlight of her yoga journey because she knows it’s her dharma—giving the gift of transformation, empowerment and growth. Being a yoga teacher changed her life forever for the better and each day it’s the same gift she strives to give to everyone!

With a strong passion for fitness, yoga and movement, Lisa has worked with countless individuals, including her own personal practice, using Yoga based practices to release stored trauma from the body. Finding ease from chronic pain and tension and a deeper connection to Self: mind, body and spirit. She spent 8 years as the Director and Senior Master Trainer of an International Yoga Teacher Training School. Lisa is the Founder of Sangha Wellness Retreats, focused on empowering her students through yoga and community. Lisa is a Global Ambassador for the Women in Fitness Association (WIFA) and has been included in Optimyz Magazine’s top 100 Health and Fitness Influencers in Canada 2017-2020. The winner of the 2018 Delegates Choice, Canadian Presenter of the Year for canfitpro, Lisa has been active in the Yoga/Fitness industry since 2001.
